A carnivalesque portrait of provincial Italy during the Fascist period. Federico Fellini’s most personal film satirizes his youth and turns daily life into a circus of social rituals, adolescent desires, male fantasies and political subterfure, all set to Nina Rota’s gorgeous nostalgic-tinged score.

Amarcord is an enduring classic, which delivers sheer pleasure and is considered Fellini’s last clear triumph work. The title is supposed to mean “I remember”, and the film is a memory-dream-diary of life in the directors seaside hometown of Rimini.

Amarcord will be featured as a part of our 2009 Grand Finale. Following this film patrons will cross Central Avenue to enjoy a wonderful intermezzo dinner at Scalo Northern Italian Grill. Last year’s event was a complete sell-out and received rave reviews. Following dinner, the second feature for the final day is My Best Enemy.
